Woman, 52, Killed In Monday Evening Head-On Crash Near Rio Nido
Witnesses said her car crossed the center lines, CHP said.

A 52-year-old woman was killed in a crash near Rio Nido in Sonoma County on Monday evening, California Highway Patrol officials said today.
The crash was reported around 6:15 p.m. Monday on River Road just east of Canyon 2 Road, according to the CHP.
The woman, whose name was not immediately being released today by the Sonoma County coroner’s office, was driving a Saturn sedan west on River Road and allowed her vehicle to cross the double yellow lines directly into the path of a Honda CR-V driven by a 30-year-old Santa Rosa man, CHP officials said.

Immediately after the initial collision, two other vehicles driving behind the Saturn swerved to the right-hand shoulder to avoid hitting it.
A 35-year-old man then swerved to the left to avoid the two vehicles and also struck the Saturn, CHP officials said.
A motorist driving behind the Saturn told investigators that the car was weaving around on the roadway prior to the crash, according to the CHP.
