2 Alarm Vegetation Fire In Oakland Hills Put Out Thursday
The fire started along Highway 13 and moved uphill. Gusty winds hampered firefighting efforts.

OAKLAND, CA —A two-alarm grass fire burning near state Highway 13 in the Oakland hills was extinguished Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 11:19 a.m. alongside northbound Highway 13 just south of Joaquin Miller Road, a dispatcher said.
The fire burned vegetation but no structures were damaged, Battalion Chief Dino Torres said.

"There was a high concern because of the wind," but ultimately crews extinguished the fire by 12:49 p.m., Torres said.
No injuries were reported.
