Council to Look at Blair Park Litigation, Labor Negotiations
Piedmont City Council members will meet in a mostly closed session Jan. 3

Good news for Piedmont City Council watchers: there won't be a long public session to sit through at the council's first meeting of 2012.
The two agenda items - potential litigation and real property negotiations relating to the Blair Park sports field plan, and a discussion of labor negotiations with City Manager Geoffrey Grote - will both be handled in closed session at the Tuesday, Jan. 3, meeting at City Hall, 120 Vista Ave.
The council has alloted 10 minutes total for members of the public to speak on non-agenda items at the beginning of the 6 p.m. meeting.

Closed sessions are permissible for discussion of certain matters (including labor negotiations and litigation) under California's Brown Act, which governs public access to legislative action. Any formal decisions made during a closed session are normally announced publicly following a closed session.
