Large Quake East Of Bay Area Felt Across NorCal: Did You Feel It?
A 5.2-magnitude quake and four other smaller quakes struck western Nevada in the early hours of Friday morning.
SILVER SPRINGS, NV — A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near the area near Reno and Lake Tahoe early Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 1:17 a.m. Friday about 60 miles east of Reno. It was part of a swarm that included five other earthquakes that took place from 1:22 a.m. to 4:48 a.m. and ranged from a 2.5 to a 4.3.
People all over northeastern California and western Nevada reported feeling light to moderate shaking, according to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” survey. It was felt as far west as Sacramento, according to the map.

No damages were reported, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
On April 14, a 5.7 quake and dozens of smaller quakes hit a similar area.
