Deadly, 3 Vehicle Crash in Oakland
Part of 580 was closed for a time because of the pile-up.
The California Highway Patrol closed a section of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Oakland overnight following a fatal crash. It has since reopened.
The crash, which involved at least three vehicles, was first reported at 2:47 a.m. in the vicinity of Grand Avenue.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
