Emergency Tree Removal Planned In Piedmont

Part of Dracena Park will be closed during the removal process.

PIEDMONT, CA — Five trees in upper Dracena Park are at significant risk of falling, prompting the city of Piedmont to order their immediate removal. The four Eucalyptus trees and one Monterey Pine will be removed starting on Feb. 25. It's expected to take two or three weeks to complete the job.

The work will be done Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

There will be street closures and parking restrictions between during the work hours in the following locations:
  • Dracena Ave. between Park Way and Blair Ave.: no through traffic, staff will help residents with access during work hours.
  • No Parking along the eastern side of Park Way: see posted signs for no parking zone.

  • The area of work within Dracena park , shown in RED on the map, will be closed 24/7 to the public for the duration of the project.
  • The area shown in GREEN will be open as usual per Piedmont Municipal Code.
  • For the duration of the project, it is important to not have pedestrians or dogs in the restricted work zone as there will be debris, equipment and the possibility of dangerous branches falling from the project trees.
