Havens Back to School Book Drive

Havens Community Service Crew is teaming up with East Bay Agency for Children for a second annual Back to School Book Drive!

Last year, Havens families generously contributed over 300 children’s books to the Hawthorne Family Resource Center, a program of the East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC). We are again asking for new or gently used books appropriate for children from pre-school through fifth grade. Books will be collected in colorful bins near the Havens front office outside the Administration Building until Back to School Night on September 6th.  Look for the bin with "East Bay Agency for Children" printed prominently on a sign affixed to the bin.

The Hawthorne Family Resource Center is located in Oakland’s Fruitvale District and supports the community with a parent center, early childhood program, comprehensive after school program and mental health services.  As you know, reading is a critical part of a child’s education, starting with parents reading to their very small children. Your contributions will give the gift of reading to a child in need. For more information on EBAC and how the organization has helped over 19,0000 East Bay families, log onto www.EBAC.org.
