Fire Erupts At Oakland Homeless Encampment
The fire was reported at 12:46 p.m. today at the encampment near Union Point Park.

OAKLAND, CA -- Two people lost their tents and belongings this afternoon in a fire at a homeless encampment near Embarcadero and Dennison Street, an Oakland Fire Department dispatcher said tonight.
The fire was reported at 12:46 p.m. today at the encampment near Union Point Park, just east of Coast Guard Island Alameda. There were no injuries, but the tents of two individual men were destroyed, the dispatcher
said.
The cause of the fire wasn't immediately available.
