Firefighters Responding to House Fire in East Oakland

Firefighters quickly controlled a house fire in East Oakland this afternoon, fire officials said. The fire at 6243 Hilton St. was reported at 2:08 p.m., according to the fire department. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house. The fire was under control by 2:26 p.m., fire officials said.
