Here's Your Chance to Weigh in on County Redistricting
Alameda County is looking at alternative plans to shift boundaries for supervisorial districts. Two meetings for District 5, which includes Piedmont, are scheduled this week.

Every 10 years, after the release of new federal census data, Alameda County redraws the boundaries of its supervisorial districts to reflect population shifts, a process required by state law.
This year, both county staff and a citizens' group have proposed new district maps. All the alternatives appear to leave Piedmont within District 5, currently represented by Supervisor Keith Carson.
Two meetings this week will give residents a chance to hear about the alternatives and weigh in with suggestions:

Alameda County Community Development Agency staff will outline some of the proposed changes. At the same meeting, Dan Marks, director of planning and development for the City of Berkeley, will talk about the future housing and transportation needs in Berkeley and the East Bay.
