Launch Pad: The Studio Practice of William Harsh at Vessel Gallery, Oakland Through December 20, 2014

“Launch Pad” focuses on the William Harsh’s studio practice which created a legacy of artworks; each piece represents the relentless dedication of an artist who gave of himself fully to his work. This show reveals the nuance of this artist’s studio practice and his masterful handling of three disciplines of art making - drawing, printmaking, and painting. Seeing these works next to one another demonstrates Harsh’s creative process, which provides insight in understanding how one small drawing could open a doorway of curiosity, directing the artist’s energy to further investigate, explore, and / or eventually arrive at another artwork.
