Man Killed by Amtrak Train in Oakland Friday Identified

It was the second train fatality at that location last week.

A man killed by an Amtrak train near an Oakland crossing last Friday morning was identified today as 37-year-old Reginald Florence, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.

Florence was hit by the train on Union Pacific Railroad tracks near the corner of High and San Leandro streets at about 10:20 a.m., according to Union Pacific officials.

It was the second train fatality at that location last week.
