OAKLAND, CA — A man was fatally shot in East Oakland this morning, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of Eighth Avenue at about 9:20 a.m. when he was shot, according to police.
Officers and paramedics responded to the scene but the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
