LWV Meet the Candidates Night on Jan. 12

All candidates have accepted the League of Women Voters of Piedmont's invitation to appear

From a press release from the LWV:

The League of Women Voters of Piedmont will host a candidates' forum on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the city council chambers of Piedmont City Hall. The community is cordially invited to meet the candidates running for City Council and the Piedmont Unified School District Board of Education. Attendees will also have a chance to learn about Measure A, the sewer tax measure also appearing on the February 7, 2012 municipal election ballot.

All of the candidates running for office have accepted the invitation to participate. Margaret Fujioka, Bob McBain and Tim Rood are running for two seats on the Piedmont City Council; Nancy "Sunny" Bostrom, Jon Elliott, Sarah Pearson, Richard Raushenbush and Andrea Swenson are running for three spots on the Board of Education. The candidates will present opening and closing remarks and respond to questions from the audience.

Michael Rancer (chair of the Municipal Tax Review Committee) and Rick Schiller will provide the arguments for and against Measure A, the special municipal sewer surtax proposal.
