No Suspect Found in Police Standoff Near Zoo Monday
Police reported just before 6 p.m. that streets were shut down in the area of Cherokee and 98th avenues, near the Oakland Zoo.

Oakland police shut down streets in East Oakland for about four hours Monday night believing an attempted murder suspect was barricaded inside a home there, but when they entered the home there was no suspect inside, police said.
Police reported just before 6 p.m. that streets were shut down in the area of Cherokee and 98th avenues, near the Oakland Zoo.
An attempted murder suspect was believed to be inside the residence there. But when police officers went inside the home, they found no one inside, police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson said today. Police announced just before 10 p.m. that streets in the area had reopened.
