Notice of Sports Fields Hearing Lists Details to be Considered

Additional documents and staff reports relating to the Moraga Canyon Sports Fields Project have yet to be issued.

The city has released a detailed public notice about the upcoming public hearing on the Moraga Canyon Sports Field Project where City Council will consider approval of the project, including the proposed development of Blair Park.

According to the notice, the council will consider approval of an addendum to the environmental impact report at the  addressing the changes to the plan for Blair Park since the nearly a year ago. Arguably the most notable modification is the introduction of a traffic plan involving the installation of a mini-roundabout on Moraga Avenue at Maxwelton Road, which has for a supplement to the EIR that would be more robust than an addendum and subject to a separate public comment period and hearing process.

The council will also be mulling over a statement of overriding concern related to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), conditions of project approval, and whether to refer the project to the Planning Commission for design review. Additionally, the council may sign on to a lease of the site to the proponent Piedmont Recreational Facilities Organization for the development of Blair Park.
