Undercover police officers were fired on while investigating Tousant’s death early the following morning in an apparently unrelated incident. That shooting occurred when they noticed a vehicle burglary happening in the area of Harrington and Lyon avenues at about 1:30 a.m.
Those suspects fled in a vehicle but crashed a few blocks away.
Two men were arrested at the crash scene and a third man was also arrested after a search of the area, police said.
Police have not indicated any suspected connection between those suspects and Tousant’s homicide.
