Oakland Pedestrian Killed Saturday in Collision with Car Identified

Police officials do not have a description of the suspect or the car involved in the collision.

The Alameda County coroner’s bureau identified a woman struck and killed by a car in Oakland Saturday as 50-year-old Celeste Howell. Police responded to a report of a collision in the 800 block of Pine Street at 2:21 p.m. and found a woman, later identified as Howell, who was struck by a car.

Howell was pronounced dead at the site of the collision. The driver of the car fled the scene of the collision after abandoning their vehicle, police said. Oakland police Officer J. Moore said police do not have a description of the suspect or the car involved in the collision.
