
OAKLAND, CA - Oakland police aided in the arrest of a 19-year-old inmate who walked away from a North Coast camp where incarcerated individuals participate in conservation programs this morning, according to correctional officials.
Darius Louis, 19, was arrested at about 11 a.m. in Oakland by local police officers and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation personnel after leaving the Alder Conservation Camp in Del Norte County.
Correctional officials said Louis, who was serving time on a grand theft conviction out of Lake County, will now be transferred to the California Correctional Center in Susanville.

He will not be eligible for another conservation camp like the one he was housed at. He was originally scheduled to be released on March 9, 2020.
