Looking for a career in energy efficient commercial heating and air conditioning (HVAC) without breaking the bank?

OAKLAND, CA — Oakland's Laney College has been awarded a $3.6 million National Science Foundation grant to fund one of its career education programs.
The money will fund the college's Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow Center, which supports the development of career education programs in energy efficient commercial heating and air conditioning, building automation and energy management, Laney officials announced Friday.
"There is an urgent need to expand the number of technical programs preparing students for careers in a growing industry experiencing both rapid growth and a workforce where the median age of workers is 55," said Peer Crabtree, Laney's dean of Career and Technical Education.
