Officer, Truck Driver Hospitalized After Collision

OAKLAND, CA: An Oakland police officer and a pickup truck driver have been hospitalized with minor injuries after they collided in East Oakland this morning, police said. A police vehicle was traveling west in the 5000 block of International Boulevard on its way to assist another police unit when it collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of International Boulevard and 51st Avenue at 8:13 a.m., according to police.

The officer suffered minor injuries and the truck driver complained of pain, police said. Paramedics responded to the scene and the officer and truck driver were both transported to a hospital, according to police.
