Overnight Fire In Oakland Hills Tamed By 3 Departments

Oakland, Berkeley and Contra Costa County Fire crews all attacked the fire.

OAKLAND, CA —Oakland Fire Department crews have contained a wildfire at Tunnel Road and Hiller Drive in Oakland early this morning, according to fire officials.

The fire started at 1:41 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, and was burning on a 50-by-100-foot steep grade. It was declared under control at 2:23 a.m., per Oakland fire officials.

Engines from the Berkeley Fire Department and Contra Costa County Fire Department also assisted Oakland fire crews. Cal Fire assistance was requested by crews on the scene, but Oakland fire officials didn't say if
they had arrived on the scene as of 2:30 a.m.
