Parolee Suspected of Possessing Stolen, Forged Bank Cards Arrested
CHP officers say they recovered more than $10,000 in cash from Jovon Williams' car.
A 22-year-old parolee suspected of possessing more than 175 stolen or forged bank cards was arrested in Oakland last week, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers were conducting a special enforcement operation on Tuesday night when they stopped a speeding 2003 BMW with a broken headlight on MacArthur Boulevard near 73rd Avenue around 9 p.m., CHP officials said.
The driver, identified as Oakland resident Jovon Williams, did not have a valid license and was found to be on parole, according to the CHP. Officers searched the BMW where they found more than $10,000 in cash and the stolen or forged bank cards, CHP officials said.
Williams was arrested and booked into county jail on charges including identity theft, forgery and probation violation, according to the CHP.
