📰 News we're reading

• AC Transit director subjected to 'unwanted physical contact,' investigation finds (berkeleyside.org) — Piedmont riders' representation on the AC Transit board is at stake as an investigation finds Director Joel Young subjected fellow director Sarah Syed to unwanted physical contact, just as both vie for new ward seats. The report, video release, and reactions from female elected officials are now shaping endorsements in the Ward 3 race that covers Piedmont, Oakland, and Alameda.

• Crawford Joins World Rugby Hall of Fame (therugbybreakdown.com) — Piedmont gets a shout-out on the global rugby stage, as Hall of Fame inductee Jen Crawford is credited with co-founding the Piedmont High School girls' rugby club while helping grow the sport nationwide.
