• Packed weekend ahead for Piedmont (piedmontexedra.com) — Piedmont residents have a full slate of free community events at Piedmont Park and Community Hall this Friday through Sunday, from a New Families Night welcome gathering to an outdoor movie, Coffee, Cars, and Cops, and the 28th Annual Harvest Festival. Bring blankets, neighbors, and an appetite for food trucks, contests, and live jazz right in town.
   

• Make your own apple cider at the Piedmont Harvest Festival (piedmontexedra.com) — Piedmont's Harvest Festival in Piedmont Park on Sunday, Sept. 27, will again let you press your own apple cider if you bring apples from home or the store. Thanks to a handcrafted press donated by a Piedmont resident, neighbors can enjoy this free, hands-on activity alongside the festival's contests, jazz, art, Scarecrow Alley, market, and food trucks.
   

• Piedmont routs San Lorenzo (piedmontexedra.com) — Piedmont High's girls football team dominated San Lorenzo 47-0 at Witter Field, highlighted by multiple touchdowns from several Highlanders and five interceptions. The win caps a busy stretch of games that has seen Piedmont notch key conference victories and some tough losses as they push through their season.
