Piedmont Council OKs Hazard Mitigation Plan
Document identifies potential hazards to city infrastructure in a natural disaster.

The City Council on Monday night unanimously approved the city’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Annex to be used in the event of a natural disaster.
The document identifies hazards to city-owned infrastructure and strategies to mitigate those effects in case of earthquake, wildfire, flood or drought.
The plan is prepared by the Association of Bay Area Governments, and then analyzed and prioritized by city staff, said Fire Chief Ed Tubbs. It is then filed with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to establish the city’s eligibility to receive post-disaster recovery funding.
