Teen Charged With Murder Including Special Circumstances
An Oakland man was shot dead in his car during a robbery, according to court documents.

An 18-year-old Oakland man has been charged with murder with special circumstances for the shooting death of a 43-year-old man while he sat in a car in East Oakland in June.
Danny Sakeem Hogg was arraigned earlier this week in connection with the fatal shooting of Arturo Barrera Rodriguez in the 3700 block of Penniman Avenue at 10:12 p.m. on June 9 and is scheduled to return to Alameda County Superior Court on Tuesday to be assigned an attorney and possibly enter a plea.
In addition to murder, Hogg is charged with the special circumstance of committing a murder during the course of a robbery.

Oakland police Officer Kris McClain wrote in a probable cause statement that witnesses told police that Hogg had walked to a corner store in the area with a friend and when they left the store they walked past a parked vehicle occupied by Barrera Rodriguez and two other men.
Hogg then approached the passenger side of the vehicle, shot Barrera Rodriguez and fled on foot, according to McClain. Barrera Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

McClain said the shooting was partially captured on video surveillance from the corner store and witnesses told police that they saw Hogg shoot Barrera Rodriguez and heard him say he was trying to get some
money.
Hogg was arrested on a warrant on Aug. 3 but when police tried to interview him he invoked his rights and asked for a lawyer, McClain said.
