You Can't Vote at Beach School! (Here's Help)

The #1 question for Piedmont voters the last couple of days isn't what candidates to vote for – it's "Where do I vote?"

That's especially true for voters who are used to casting their ballots at the polling place. With Beach under construction, voters need to find their new polling place for today's Piedmont Municipal Election.

The official word is that you should check the election material from the Alameda County Registrar of Voters you received in the mail, which includes your polling place. If you can't find your sample ballot, you can locate your polling place at the Registrar's My Voter Profile page. If all else fails, you can call the Registrar's 24-hour hotline at 510-267-8683 and a helpful staff member will find your polling place for you.

Unofficially – and you should still check an official source to make sure – Beach voters will cast their ballots at (Piedmont Veterans Memorial Building), 401 Highland Ave., which is hosting two polling places this year.

If you haven't voted in person for the last election or two, and you used to vote at , you will most likely cast your ballot at 's Fellowship Hall, 1300 Grand Ave.

And if you sometimes vote at and other years in a nearby residential garage – this year the polling place is at the church's Gibson Center, 322 St. James Dr.

Election officials stress that all voters from a previous polling place may not be directed to the same new location, so do double-check.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Vote-by-Mail Ballots

If you want to make your vote-by-mail ballot was received by the Registrar's Office, check the My Voter Profile page.

If you didn't mail it back, you may turn in your vote-by-mail ballot at any Piedmont polling place today between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. You may also return it to the Registrar's Office, 1225 Fallon St., Rm. G-1, Oakland. Vote-by-mail ballots must be turned in by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
