Assault Rifle Seized By Pinole Police
Police also made two arrests - one man already had a warrant out for his arrest, while the other was on probation and ran from police.

PINOLE AND HERCULES, CA — Two people were arrested and an assault rifle with a loaded high-capacity drum magazine were seized during a traffic stop by Pinole Police last Saturday morning. The names of the two suspects have not been released.
Officers tried to stop a car for a vehicle code violation on San Pablo Dam Road near El Portal Drive in the early morning hours. According to a social media post from police, "The driver initially did not stop and kept driving. He stopped a short distance away and the front passenger decided to make a run for it on foot. Officers reacted quickly, chased him down, and arrested him on-scene."
The driver was already had a warrant out for his arrest while the passenger who tried to run was found to be on probation. Both were booked into jail in Martinez.
