Being an Inspiration...

Many times, people overlook the little things that make a day special... A smile. A simple "hello." A random act of kindness.

A smile. A simple hello. A random act of kindness.

Sometimes it takes "work" to recognize the small things and when you do, it makes it worthwhile. Here are a couple examples of "inspiration" around the neighborhood that you might have missed... or maybe even recognized:

1) There is an elderly gentleman who stands at the corner of San Pablo Ave & Shamrock (near the Tara Hills entrance) and wears a sign... no, its not a sign asking for a donation, food, or anything of monetary value... he wears a sign that sends a message of hope. If you get the chance, check him out, I've found that he usually stands out there in the afternoon (noon-ish?).

2) People who pick up "dropped" pieces of garbage on the streets of our communities. How many times have you walked by a piece of garbage that has been thrown out or randomly "dropped" by someone else? Have you seen strangers (not the kind that are paid to do it or doing it out of "service"), let's just call them, citizens who care, pick up random pieces of garbage lying on our community streets? These are unspoken heroes who are showing more than what their physical actions are showing... they care about our community and thus want to keep garbage off the streets.

In this busy life of "hustle & bustle," it is important to take the time to appreciate the little things. The things that get overlooked... simply because, you just might get inspired.
