No Expectations—So Far, So Good?

Progress is in the eye of the beholder.

I know you haven't heard from me in a while. No, I haven't given up. I'm still going to the gym usually twice a week. The workouts are getting progressively harder. I'm pulling, lifting, rowing, squatting (and getting better at it!), running (well, more like jogging), and even flipping tires!

Even the little things are getting better. My water bottle isn't completely drained after each session anymore. I don't need to take quite as many breaks. My legs aren't quite so wobbly, muscles not quite so sore. So, the small steps are being made.

Overall, though, it's hard to say how things are going. I don't really think I look any different. The clothes still fit about the same. I'm still as tired as ever, although that's probably due more to work stress than anything else. I'm exhausted by the end of the workday, which has resulted in too often deciding to skip the after-work walks.

Plus, and I knew this was going to be the biggest challenge going in, I haven't changed my eating habits much at all. I would no doubt be a bit further along if I did. I only hope that, as the workouts continue and I hopefully start feeling better and better, I'll be more motivated to make better choices.
