The Financial DownPOOR of America
Financial implications of the Haves, and the Have-Nots.
I watch with passing interest the hit TV show Big Brother. Something that catches my attention is a portion devoted to the haves and the have-nots….
The intriguing thing is, in life this occurs all the time. We can look at our society and see where there are the haves — and the have-nots. For many, the “haves” have worked much of their life, putting money aside so that when the rainy day came, they could weather the storm. This country has been in quite a torrential downpour (or should I say downpoor), for several years.
A few years ago, an interesting thing occurred in U.S. Politics. Through the efforts of folks devoted to a community organizer, the have-nots discovered that they had the power of the vote. For many generations, they were the hidden majority. A majority that never had a focus to seize the opportunity to control the destiny of the United States.

Now the Have-Nots are firmly in control. The Haves are beginning to realize what has occurred and will see that their nest eggs are in jeopardy. Not directly mind you, but through the ability of the representatives who have been put into office by the have nots to tax the haves.
Now, there are many level’s of haves… If you do a quick study of the wealth in America, you will find that most of the haves are those that have saved about $50,000 for retirement (outside of their primary residence). If you have saved this, are you ready to give it up (via taxes) for those that have not saved throughout their lives?

Something just does not sound quite right or fair here. Why should they, who took control of their lives and futures, have to pay for those who languished and had no vision.
What’s your response?
