Cash Awards Given to Two Pinole Valley High Seniors

PINOLE, CA: Seniors Julie Ho and Beckie Phanh are on their way to college with some well-earned awards, Principal Kibby Kleiman said.

"Julie is getting a $1,000 scholarship awarded on Sunday at the West Contra Costa Unified District’s first Southeast Asian festival," Kleiman told Patch. "Julie earned the award for her exemplary work at school and in the community. Beckie Phanh is the recipient of a $250 check and a luncheon on behalf of the Association of California School Administrators Region VI, for her citizenship and academic efforts."

Kleiman said Phanh will be feted on April 26 at the Sheraton hotel in Pleasanton.
