Chamber to Honor Standouts

50th anniversary celebration for Pinole Chamber of Commerce.

The will  honor members of the community with awards for Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and other special recognition awards at the June 2 celebration of its 50th Anniversary.

Besides feting annual awards recipients, the Chamber will recognize the achievements and contributions of former Chamber presidents and officers. Receiving the first-ever Lifetime Recognition Awards will be former Chamber President and Pinole Mayor Jack Meehan and former Chamber President and Pinole Mayor Tom Cutino.

The Chamber also will honor Business of the Year, Kaiser-Permanente;  Senior Citizen of the Year (Ren Partridge); and Pinole Valley High School Student of the Year (Topaz Bess). Also, surprise special recognition awards will be presented.

The theme of this year's event is "The Walk of Fame," and it will feature a Hollywood-esque ambiance, complete with red carpet and Walk of Fame stars. Enjoy an elegant two-course catered dinner provided by Cafe Soleil, with a choice of salmon or steak, cocktail hour appetizers and a dessert buffet. There will be a no-host bar, special prizes and a 50/50 cash raffle.

Music from the '60s to today will be playing to reflect decades of Chamber history and tradition.

Reservations are required. Tickets are $40 per person. The celebration will be 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Pinole Senior Center, 2500 Charles Ave. Contact the Chamber at 510-724-4484|or at pinolechamber@yahoo.com to make reservations.
