City Manager's Weekly Report: First Oversight Board Meeting and More
The transition to close Pinole's redevelopment agency activities begins with initial meeting of new body.

City Manager Belinda Espinosa reported on the city's Web site that the Pinole Oversight Board held its first meeting and approved the of the Pinole Valley and Pinole Vista Crossing shopping centers. The transactions are in escrow.
The board was established under the state legislation that dissolved redevelopment agencies in cities and counties statewide. It required the naming of a "Successor Agency" to handle the existing commitments of each Redevelopment Agency and an Oversight Board to approve actions of the Successor Agency.
The city council and various other local agencies appointed the seven board members, who will manage the outstanding affairs of the former Pinole Redevelopment Agency .

The oversight board members are:
- Pinole Mayor Pete Murray and former Pinole Economic Development Manager Mary Drazba (appointed by the Pinole City Council)
- Counnity College District Governing Board member John Marquez (appointed by the Contra Costa Community College District)
- Norma Martinez-Rubin (appointed by the Contra Costa Superintendent of Schools)
- East Bay Regional Parks District Board member Whitney Dotson (appointed by the East Bay Regional Parks District)
- Pinole Council member Debbie Long and Pinole Planning Commisisoner Maureen Toms (appointed by Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors).
The city manager's report also includes information about a child car seat safety instruction to be held on April 18 by the Pinole Fire Department, an April 27 local visit by state Sen. Loni Hancock and other events and information.
