California Coastal Cleanup Day

The 27th annual California Coastal Cleanup, the state’s largest shoreline cleanup project is Saturday September 17, 2011.

In Pinole, the meeting place is Bay Front Park, at the foot of Tennent Avenue. Volunteer groups are needed to remove debris accumulated on our beaches and inland shorelines and creeks for the past year.

Each year it seems volunteers clear more tires, plastic bags, bowling balls, and other assorted debris from the bay and creek.
