Fireworks Near Pinole & Hercules July 4 2020 Canceled: See Events

PINOLE-HERCULES, CA — Independence Day events across the country will not look the same this year, thanks to the coronavirus. Most area cities and organizations decided to cancel their Fourth of July events, including the annual parade and festival in Hercules.

There were two confirmed Fourth of July live fireworks shows in the Bay Area — in the South Bay's Gilroy and Cloverdale in Sonoma County.

But that changed this week as Cloverdale organizers announced Wednesday that those plans were scrapped. Gilroy's show still appears to be a go — but with viewing restrictions.

But throughout the East Bay and the SF Bay area, several communities are hosting live aerial flyovers, virtual fireworks and parades, decorating contests and patriotic, fun activities to do from home.

• 2020 4th July Danville E-Parade. The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley will host a virtual parade with goal to reach 40,000 virtual spectators.
