HERCULES, CA - A former cop was arrested in Hercules last week on suspicion of resisting arrest after refusing to provide his driver's license or proof of registration to police officers conducting a traffic stop.
Ronald Vinson, 34, was stopped around 8:30 p.m. last Friday in the vicinity of Sycamore Avenue and Silver Maple Drive.
Officers asked for his license, registration and proof of insurance, but Vinson allegedly refused to comply. Vinson attempted to roll up his window and lock his door while reaching for his waistband, where a loaded revolver was later found concealed in a pants pocket, according to police.

Despite having a gun in his pocket, police say that as a former law enforcement officer Vinson was carrying the weapon legally. He suffered minor injuries, as did the arresting officers.
Vinson was cleared at a hospital before being booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
