Free Dental Services For Uninsured To Begin This Month

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is partnering with Lifelong Medical Services and local dentists to provide the care.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A program to bring much-needed dental services to uninsured adults in West Contra Costa County starts in January, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has announced.

Lifelong Medical Services will partner with the charity to provide exams, cleanings, X-rays and additional services to those without dental insurance.

An estimated 300,000 people throughout Contra Costa County lack dental insurance.

Three years ago, the St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County's adult dental program began in the central area of the county.

Patients are referred from St. Vincent de Paul branches at most of the county's Catholic churches. Those with infection and pain are prioritized.

A patient request is screened and reviewed by a dental committee. If accepted, the patient receives services from La Clinica Dental Clinic in Pittsburg or Concord, Lifelong Dental in West County or a local dentist who has agreed to provide free services to program clients.
