This Sunday is Father's Day, so this week's collection of children's events and activities is dedicated to Dad. Or Mom, because chances are she is into barbecues and pirates, too. If she's cool.

Why Go: The country’s largest Pirate Party will give away $5,000 in gold coins and treasure for its fifth anniversary. Little sea dogs can check out tall ships, live music, pirate encampments, nautical inspired crafts, games, costume contests, sword fighting and ship-to- shore cannon battles.

Why Go: Explore their world like never before in Dinosaurs Unearthed. Scientists, engineers, and artists designed these creatures to be as lifelike as possible. The gigantic animals open their jaws, blink their eyes, move their limbs … and more. You will walk among roaring, stomping, realistic-looking animatronic dinosaurs, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus and many more.
