Hercules City Council To Discuss BART Extension Plan

Should Hercules support a proposal to bring BART to their town?

That's the discussion scheduled for Tuesday night when the Hercules City Council gathers for its regular meeting.

On the agenda is a resolution supporting a plan to bring BART trains or an alternative light rail extension to Hercules.

The BART proposal is part of a plan to bring the rapid transit district trains to San Pablo, Richmond Hilltop, Pinole and Hercules, according to an article in the Contra Costa Times.

The route would either travel north up the Interstate 80 corridor from the El Cerrito BART station or through Richmond from the BART station there, according to The Times.

The Hercules station would be near the intersection of I-80 and Highway 4.
