Hercules Driver Strikes Pedestrian on I-880

HERCULES, CA — A female pedestrian who was running west on the northbound lanes of Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward, south of the Whipple Road exit, was struck by two vehicles and killed on Thursday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

The fatal collision occurred at about 8:35 p.m., according to the CHP.

The CHP said the woman didn't have any identification on her and still hasn't been identified.

The vehicles that struck the woman were a 2010 Mini Cooper driven by a 47-year-old woman from Hercules and a 2015 Mercedes-Benz driven by a 71-year-old person. The two drivers weren't injured and haven't been arrested, according to the CHP.

The CHP says the collision remains under investigation.
