Hercules Man Killed in Crash

The Contra Costa County coroner’s office today identified an 81-year-old man who was killed in a collision near Lafayette last Thursday.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews responded just before 3 p.m. Thursday to a report of a collision at the intersection of Withers Avenue and Taylor Boulevard between Lafayette and Pleasant Hill, Fire Marshal Robert Marshall said.

Hercules resident Dongwhan Oh was pronounced dead at the scene.

At least two cars were involved in the collision and Marshall said the California Highway Patrol took over the investigation. A CHP spokesman did not immediately return a call for more information about the incident.
