Hercules Police Detain Three After Discovering Pellet Gun Aboard Bus

The incident happened during an argument on Wednesday night, according to police.

Police seized a pellet gun discovered inside the backpack of a man who allegedly pulled out the gun on another man during an argument in Hercules on Wednesday.

At approximately 6:05 p.m., officers responded to 1352 Willow Ave., near the Hercules Transit Center, for a report of an argument between two men, according to police. During the incident, one man pulled out a knife, while the other man pulled out a “gun knife,” which is a gun with a knife attached to it. The suspect that pulled out the gun knife, was also in possession of an army green backpack and was seen with two other men, according to police.

The trio was seen getting onto a Western Contra Costa County Transit Authority Route 11 bus, police said. Officers stopped the bus, detained the men, and then had passengers vacate the bus, according to police. Police recovered the backpack and found a black pellet gun inside. Police have not yet located the man with the knife.
