High Speed Pursuit of Car Through Hercules
Police say the car was speeding recklessly through streets and on Highway 4 with its lights off late at night.

HERCULES,CA - A motorist driving recklessly late Tuesday night in Hercules evaded police during a pursuit, according to a police report.
An officer initially saw the driver traveling at a fast speed in a sedan with the headlights off at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday on southbound Willow Avenue near state Highway 4, according to Hercules police.
The driver of the sedan accelerated away when the officer caught up to him and tried to conduct a traffic stop, according to police.

After overtaking another vehicle on a non-passing lane, the sedan then blew through a stop sign and entered eastbound Highway 4 driving at about 80 mph, according to police.
The pursuing officer lost sight of the vehicle near Franklin Canyon Golf Course along Highway 4, spotted the vehicle again near Cummings Skyway but once more lost sight of it.
