Incumbent Murray, Grist Take Out Papers for City Council Election

The number of potential candidates for the November race reaches four.

Pinole City Council incumbent Pete Murray and possible challenger Sheila Grist on Wednesday requested nomination papers to file for the Nov. 6 race for two council seats.

Murray is currently serving a one-year term as mayor and has served five consecutive terms on the council. Grist is an active member of the Pinole Historical Society, most recently as its treasurer. She also frequently attends council meetings, sometimes speaking during periods when public comment is permitted.

They join incumbent Roy Swearingen and former Pinole Chamber of Commerce President Ivette Ricco as possible candidates. All of them have until Aug. 10 to return a filing fee and the signatures of at least 20 registered voters to qualify for the ballot.
