Man Shot During Attempted Robbery in Richmond
The victim was transported to a trauma center and is expected to survive, according to police.

An attempted robbery and shooting Thursday night in Richmond sent a man to the hospital, police said. Police responded at about 9 p.m. to the incident at South 41st Street and Florida Avenue, police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
Police said the suspect attempted to rob a man and then opened fire on him with a handgun. Shots by the suspect hit the victim once in the back and once in the chest, police said. The victim was transported to a trauma center and is expected to survive, Abetkov said.
Police described the suspect as a black man, 18 to 20 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall wearing a black jacket pulled over his head and blue jeans. The man was last scene running north on South 41st Street, police said.
