Masked Suspect Swipes $3K in Eyewear from Optometry Business
Witnesses reported seeing the masked suspect near the business early Thursday morning.

An optometry business in Hercules had about $3,000 in glasses stolen from it by a masked suspect early Thursday morning, according to police. At around 5:09 a.m., Hercules police officers were dispatched to the business at Creekside Shopping Center in the 1500 block of Sycamore Avenue based on an alarm triggered by motion inside the building. The front door to the business was smashed and a large amount of glasses were stolen.
Based on a witness account, a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask was seen running near the business shortly before 5 a.m. Police said this suspect was apparently associated with a newer model Chrysler 300 driven by a woman. No further details were provided.
