Meet Hercules' Newest Police Officer
Michael Thompson graduated at the top of his class from the Napa Police Academy.

HERCULES, CA — The Hercules Police Department has just hired a new officer, Michael Thompson. He graduated from the Napa Police Academy at the top of his class last Friday and started 3-and-a-half months of field training on Monday.
Officer Thompson grew up in West County and went to school with two current HPD officers. "We are excited to have him here and look forward to everything the future holds for him," the department said in an online post. "If you haven't met him yet be sure to say hello when you see him out on the streets."
The hiring of Officer Thompson is an accomplishment for the department, which has been operating at an 80 percent staffing level for over a year.
