You can help make Pinole a better place by volunteering for a half-day this weekend.
Pinole Community Service Day is being held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Fernandez Park. The event is organized by the Pinole Community Service Commission.
The community projects scheduled for Saturday include landscaping at parks, visiting with senior citizens and cleaning up the Old Town section of the city.
Every volunteer receives a free breakfast, tote bag and lunch.
